Update from island bird expert Ed Swan:

Adria Magrath had a pair of Evening Grosbeaks at her feeder today. They’ve been moving through this last week. I’d appreciate sightings as people find them. Also, has anyone seen Cedar Waxwings? Her Cooper’s Hawks are also nesting again.

Wednesday night, Susan McClellan saw three Barn Owls hunting at dusk (9ish) at the field on the south side of 232nd at Wax Orchards across from the runway. Saw one there last night.

Robert Teargardin and Larry Jensen saw 15 western grebes and several rhino auklets while kayaking across the Sound to Dash Point on Wednesday.

Ron Simons heard a Cassin’s Vireo, the only report so far this year, on Monday at his place north of Camp Sealth.

Harsi and Ezra saw a Marbled Murrelet from the Fauntleroy dock Monday.
