Vashon eDNA project 2026 – March 18th

Volunteer with us and become a part of a team of King County scientists, Vashon Nature Center scientists, and University of Washington eDNA collaborative scientists to answer the question: do young chinook salmon use island creeks to rear?

We will be surveying 10 island creeks every month between February and May and have openings for volunteers during two sessions on March 18th from 9am-12pm and 12pm-3pm and on March19th from 12pm-3pm. Volunteers will be helping to collect water samples for eDNA analysis and/or helping process juvenile fish caught during (non-lethal) electro-fishing.
