Salmon Habitat Restoration Talk with Alicia Olivas

Join us for a talk about salmon habitat restoration efforts in Hood Canal presented by Alicia Olivias! She will discuss the complexity of salmon recovery and the importance of habitat restoration, especially the freshwater habitat that buffers the effects that we can’t control. Free and open to the public!

Background on Alicia:  Alicia Olivas oversees the recovery plan implementation activities for the Hood Canal Coordinating Council (HCCC) Salmon Program. Working with partner organizations and member governments to assure sound science and community values guide salmon recovery actions and habitat projects. Alicia is an integral part of HCCC’s efforts in the continuing development and implementation of the Hood Canal and Eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca Summer Chum Salmon Recovery Plan. Alicia earned her Bachelors of Science degree from Oregon State University’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences in Environmental Sciences, with specialization emphasis in Environmental Conservation, Resources, and Sustainability.
