We will be mulching, pulling invasives, planting natives in strategic spots,
and taking some long-term monitoring photos.
The Heron Meadow is a two-acre wetland forming part of the eastern headwaters of Judd Creek, Vashon Island’s largest salmon-bearing creek. In 2019, the Vashon Center for the Arts and Vashon Nature Center created a partnership to restore this wetland meadow to become better quality habitat for native wildlife and a demonstration site for how to enhance wildlife habitat. It is a place for community gathering, artistic expression, science education, habitat restoration, and nature play.
Heron Meadow is located on Cemetary Rd, just east of the parking lot at Vashon Center for the Arts 19600 Vashon Hwy SW.
