Salmon Open House at Shinglemill Creek

Are you curious about salmon species in the Salish Sea and Vashon Island? Want to try to see some in person and learn about their life cycles and their deep cultural and ecological importance?

Bring the whole family down to our first ever Salmon Open House at Shinglemill Creek on Sunday, November 20th, 11am-3pm. Vashon Nature Center Staff and our Salmonwatch volunteers will be there to share knowledge and hopefully show you a few salmon who have returned to the creek to spawn this fall. No registration required, just show up ready to learn and possibly go on a short walk along the creek. Spanish interpretation available.

Venga con toda la familia a nuestra primera Casa Abierta del Salmón en el arroyo Shinglemill Creek este domingo 20 de noviembre, de 11 am a 3 pm. El personal del Centro de la Naturaleza de Vashon y los voluntarios del projecto Salmonwatch estarán allí para compartir información acerca del salmón y, con suerte, usted podrría tener la oportunidad de observar los salmones que han regresado este otoño al arroyo para desovar. No es necesario registrarse, solo necesita estar listo para aprender del salmón y para dar un paseo corto a lo largo del arroyo.
