
Talks on the Rock: Kelp forest ecology, conservation, and restoration in Puget Sound
Join us for another informative and enjoyable Talks on the Rock in partnership with Vashon Center for the Arts. Gray McKenna from Puget Sound Restoration Fund will be talking about recent research, projects, and efforts to conserve and understand kelp in Puget Sound.
Gray McKenna is a marine scientist, diver, artist, educator who fell in love with the Salish Sea while working aboard tallships in these waters. As the Kelp Program Specialist at Puget Sound Restoration Fund, a local nonprofit, they work on kelp forest conservation and restoration projects. Gray will introduce the wonderful world of kelp and share the collaborative efforts underway to conserve and restore these iconic ecosystems in Puget Sound.
